Michael originally grew up in Buffalo, MN and had been on many vacations in Duluth with his family so when it came time to choose a college, he decided to attend UMD. He was first introduced to entrepreneurship and construction through his father, who still owns a handful of successful businesses. Mike started a summer painting business in college. After a couple lucrative summers he used the proceeds to start buying homes in Duluth. With each house there were numerous new projects to work on proving to be a excellent education in the trades. Since then Mike has blossomed into a prominent local entrepreneur and property owner. Heirloom is the combination of Mike’s interests in the field; from helping to find deals, securing funds and property renovation, Mike lives and breathes Duluth real estate. He’s a lifelong learner and some of his upcoming pursuits include learning masonry and the design and construction of his own home. Some of the things he likes to do outside of the office include running & hiking (he’s completed 5 half marathons), learning new recipes, trap shooting at the range and woodworking in his home shop.
